I wild like to thank each of your for your tireless effort in giving away books. Your gifts of the free books made our families in the Nystrom Elementary school community very happy. At the end of our teachers presentations about the importance of reading during Family Literacy Night, the children and parents were invited to come to the multipurpose room and select free books. It was a joy to even see toddlers smiling while carrying a book of their choice under their arms. I was so busy coordinating the event and activities that I forgot to bring my camera. I’m sorry to say that I don’t have pictures to share with you. Be assured that your project was a hit in Richmond, CA! There were smiles on everyone’s face at the end of the night! New Books! Gently Used Books! Books were going home and some children were even reading their books while waiting on their siblings or parents to select theirs. YOUR BOOKS MADE EVERYONE HAPPY!
Mr. Bolden was Dr. Seuss, our principal-Wendy Holmes was Thing 1 and I was Thing 2
